Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Verily the God-fearing shall be amidst gardens and springs. 45 Enter therein in peace, secure. 46 And We will root out whatever of rancor is in their breasts-- (they shall be) as brethren, on raised couches, face to face. 47 There shall touch them no toil therein, nor therefrom they shall ever be driven out. 48 ۞ Inform My bondmen that undoubtedly, I surely am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 49 and that My punishment is a painful one. 50 And inform them of Ibrahim’s guests. 51 When the angels came to him and said, “Peace"; he said, “We feel afraid of you.” 52 They said, 'Be not afraid; behold, we give thee good tidings of a cunning boy.' 53 He said, "Do you bring me such news despite my old age? What kind of good news are you bringing me?" 54 They replied: 'In truth we have given you glad tidings, do not be one of those who despair' 55 "Who would despair of the mercy of his Lord," he answered, "but those who go astray." 56 He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)? 57 They replied: 'We are sent to sinful nation. 58 "(All) except the family of Lout (Lot). Them all we are surely going to save (from destruction). 59 except his wife (about whom Allah says that) We have decreed that she shall be among those who stay behind." 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
