The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He has created man: 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
