S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 What! makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure! 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation, and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
