So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
