And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
