He it is who sendeth down from the heaven water for you, wherefrom is drinking and wherefrom are trees whereas ye pasture your herds. 10 (With this water) He causes corn, olives, palm-trees, vines, and all kinds of fruits to grow. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of understanding. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude). 13 And it is He Who subjected the sea for you, so you eat fresh meat from it, and extract ornaments from it which you wear; and you see ships ploughing through it and in order that you may seek His munificence and that you may give thanks. 14 And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you, and rivers and roads, that you may guide yourselves. 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 Even if you wanted to count up all of God's blessings, you would not be able to. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 18 God knows what you hide and disclose. 19 Those whom they invoke besides Allah create nothing and are themselves created. 20 Dead (are they), not living, and they know not when they shall be raised. 21
