And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
