The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 We have given you the seven dual (verses, Al Fatihah) and the Mighty Holy Reading (Koran). 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 About their deeds. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
