The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 about what they did. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
