(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
