Abraham was, certainly, an obedient and upright person. He was not a pagan. 120 He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way. 121 We gave goodness to him in this world, and in the Everlasting Life he shall be amongst the righteous. 122 So We commanded you to follow the way of Abraham the upright who was not of idolaters. 123 The Sabbath was only appointed for those who were at variance thereon; surely thy Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection, touching their differences. 124 Call to the Path of your Lord with wisdom and fine admonition. Dispute with them in the best manner. Your Lord is well aware of those who have gone astray from His Path and He is well aware of those who are guided. 125 If you want to retaliate, retaliate to the same degree as the injury done to you. But if you are patient, it is better to be so. 126 And bear with patience, (O Muhammad) - and your patience is only because of the help of Allah - and do not grieve over them, nor feel distressed by their evil plans. 127 Surely God is with those who are godfearing, and those who are good-doers. 128
