We have explained [the truth] in this Quran in various ways, so that they may take heed, but it has only increased their aversion. 41 Say, (O Muhammad): "Had there been other gods with Him, as they claim, they would surely have attempted to find a way to the Lord of the Throne. 42 Glorified is He, and High Exalted above what they say! 43 The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. And there is not a thing except that it exalts [Allah] by His praise, but you do not understand their [way of] exalting. Indeed, He is ever Forbearing and Forgiving. 44 And when you recite the Quran, We place between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter a hidden barrier; 45 We lay veils upon their hearts and heaviness in their ears, lest they understand it. When you (Prophet Muhammad) mention your Lord alone in the Koran, they turn their backs in aversion. 46 We are well aware of what they wish to hear when they listen to you and what they say when they confer in whispers, when the wrong-doers say: "You are only following one who is bewitched." 47 See what examples they have put forward for you. So they have gone astray, and never can they find a way. 48 The pagans say, "When we become mere bones and dust, shall we then be brought back to life again?" 49 (Muhammad), say "Yes, even if you become rocks, iron, 50 ۞ Or some created thing that is yet greater in your thoughts! Then they will say: Who shall bring us back (to life). Say: He Who created you at the first. Then will they shake their heads at thee, and say: When will it be? Say: It will perhaps be soon; 51 A day when He will call you and ye will answer with His praise, and ye will think that ye have tarried but a little while. 52
