Al-Isra 10 of 12
And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." 85 And if We willed, We could surely do away with that which We revealed to you. Then you would not find for yourself concerning it an advocate against Us. 86 except through the special mercy of your Lord. His favours towards you has been great indeed. 87 Say, "If all men and jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce one like it, however much they helped one another." 88 We have indeed turned about for men in this Koran every manner of similitude; yet most men refuse all but unbelief. 89 And they say: We will by no means believe in you until you cause a fountain to gush forth from the earth for us. 90 Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly; 91 or you cause the heavens to fall down on us in pieces, as you have claimed; or you bring God and the angels before us face to face; 92 "Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?" 93

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
