The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, "Will we really return to our former state?" 10 "When we have become decayed bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
