They ask you concerning the soul; proclaim “The soul is an entity by the command of my Lord, and you have not received knowledge except a little.” 85 If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration: then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,- 86 But on account of mercy from your Lord-- surely His grace to you is abundant. 87 Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another. 88 Indeed, We have set forth for mankind in this Koran every kind of parable, yet most people refuse all except disbelief. 89 And they said, “We will not accept faith in you, until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us.” 90 or you (show) us that you have your own garden of palm trees and vines with flowing streams therein, 91 or cause the sky to fall into pieces on us - as you believe you can - or bring God and the angels face to face with us, 92 or you have a house made of gold; or you ascend to heaven; and we will not believe in your ascension until you send down to us a Book that we can read." Tell them, "Holy is my Lord. I am but a human being sent as a messenger." 93
