Did you not see that We sent devils upon the disbelievers, so they excite them abundantly? 83 Therefore, do not hasten (in seeking a scourge against them). We are counting their days. 84 The Day We shall gather the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) unto the Most Beneficent (Allah), like a delegate (presented before a king for honour). 85 And We shall drive the Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water), 86 People do not own the right to intercede, except those* who have made a covenant with the Most Gracious. (* The Holy Prophets and virtuous people will be given the permission to intercede. Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – will be the first to intercede.) 87 They say, "The Gracious One has begotten a son." 88 Assuredly ye have brought a thing monstrous. 89 Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, 90 That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son, 91 and it behoves not the All-merciful to take a son. 92 All that is in the heavens and the earth will return to the Beneficent God as His submissive servants. 93 Certainly He has a comprehensive knowledge of them and He has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering. 94 and each one shall come to Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 The Lord of Mercy will bestow affection upon those who believe and perform righteous deeds. 96 And We make (this Scripture) easy in thy tongue, (O Muhammad) only that thou mayst bear good tidings therewith unto those who ward off (evil), and warn therewith the froward folk. 97 And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound? 98
