In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Most Gracious Who, befitting His Majesty, took to the Throne (of control). 5 Whatever is in the heavens and the earth and in between them, belongs to Him, as whatever lies under the earth. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
