T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I Myself have chosen thee; therefore give thou ear to this revelation. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
