[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 And ease for me my task 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and let him share my task 32 so that we exalt You 33 "And remember Thee without stint: 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'Moses, who is the Lord of you both' 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
