He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
