And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They said: We will by no means cease to keep to its worship until Musa returns to us. 91 He (Moses) said: O Aaron! What held thee back when thou didst see them gone astray, 92 Did you disobey my orders?" 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said, "I perceived what they did not see. So I took a handful [of dust] from the footprint of the Messenger and threw it in [the calf]. That is what my inner self prompted me to do." 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 Thus do We relate to you (some) of the news of what has gone before; and indeed We have given to you a Reminder from Ourselves. 99 Whoso turneth away from it, he verily will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection, 100 and live in it for ever; how evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. 101 On the day when the Trumpet is blown and We shall assemble the guilty on that day, blue -eyed. 102 They shall consult together secretly: You did tarry but ten (centuries). 103 We are Best Aware of what they utter when their best in conduct say: Ye have tarried but a day. 104
