Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 Not a word he uttereth but there is with him a watcher ready. 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 [And] He will say: "Contend not before Me, [O you sinners,] for I gave you a forewarning [of this Day of Reckoning]. 28 The Word is not changed with Me; I wrong not My servants.' 29
