Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should sway under them, and We placed therein passages for paths so that they might find their way. 31 And We have made the sky a roof, protected; and they turn away from its signs. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon, each swimming in a sky. 33 And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? 34 Every soul shall taste death. We will try you with a trial of evil and good. Then, to Us you shall be returned. 35 But when the unbelievers see you they make fun of you (and say): "Is this the one who mentions your gods (deridingly)?" Yet in Ar-Rahman they disbelieve! 36 Man is made of haste. I shall show you My portents, but ask Me not to hasten. 37 They say, "When shall the Day of Judgment come to pass if you are true in your claim?" 38 If only the unbelievers could apprehend the moment when they would neither be able to ward off the fire from their faces and their backs, nor help reach them! 39 In fact it will suddenly come upon them, therefore shocking them, and they will not be able to repel it nor will they be given respite. 40 Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 41
