Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
