۞ And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him, 51 When he asked his father and his people, "What are these images to which you are so devoted?" 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error." 54 They said, "Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest?" 55 He said: Aye! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth Who created them, and as to that I am of the witnesses. 56 "And by Allah, I have a plan for your idols - after ye go away and turn your backs".. 57 He shattered them all, except the biggest among them, that perhaps they may question it. 58 They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers." 59 They said: "We heard a youth talk about them. He is called Abraham." 60 They said: Then bring him (hither) before the people's eyes that they may testify. 61 [And when he came.] they asked: "Hast thou done this to our gods, O Abraham?" 62 He said: rather he hath wrought it, this big one of them; so question them, if they ever speak. 63 Then gathered they apart and said: Lo! ye yourselves are the wrong-doers. 64 then they hung their heads, and said, "O Abraham! You know they cannot speak." 65 Said [Abraham]: "Do you then worship, instead of God, something that cannot benefit you in any way, nor harm you? 66 “Disgrace be upon you and all the idols whom you worship instead of Allah; so do you not have sense?” 67 They said, "Burn him and support your gods - if you are to act." 68 [But] We said: O fire! Be thou cool, and [a source of] inner peace for Abraham!" 69 They had devised an evil plan (against Abraham), but We turned it into failure." 70 We saved him and Lot, and brought them to the land which We had blessed for all the worlds. 71 We gave him, in excess, Isaac, and Jacob (for a grandson); and We made each righteous 72 And We made them leaders guiding by Our command. And We inspired to them the doing of good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of zakah; and they were worshippers of Us. 73 And (as for) Lut, We gave him wisdom and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town which wrought abominations; surely they were an evil people, transgressors; 74 Thus We admitted him to Our grace. He is surely one of the righteous. 75
