The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
