The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
