The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
