The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
