The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 to their promise, 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
