The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
