And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 And then the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them, justly and unavoidably, and We caused them to become as the flotsam of dead leaves and the scum borne on the surface of a torrent: and so - away with those evildoing folk! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 We then sent our Noble Messengers, one after another; whenever a nation’s Noble Messenger came to it they denied him, We therefore united the succeeding with the old, and made them history; so far removed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
