And indeed the Noble Messengers came to the people of Firaun. 41 They, too, rejected all Our signs. So We seized them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent. 42 Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: "We are a group united, [and therefore] bound to prevail"? 44 (Let them know that) this united group will soon run away in defeat. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 Verily, the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter). 47 The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire: 'Taste now the touch of Sakar!' 48 We have indeed created all things by measure; 49 And Our Command is but a single (Act),- like the twinkling of an eye. 50 And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? 51 And every thing they did is in the scriptures, 52 and everything, great and small, is inscribed. 53 Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river 54 honorably seated in the presence of the All-dominant King. 55
