And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 And We sent forth Our apostles, one after another: [and] every time their apostle came to a community, they gave him the lie: and so We caused them to follow one another [into the grave,] and let them become [mere] tales: and so - away with the folk who would not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, that haply they would be guided; 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
