O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 NAY, [as for those who have torn asunder the unity of faith] - their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this! But apart from that [breach of unity] they have [on their conscience even worse] deeds; and they will [continue to] commit them 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
