Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.' 94 And verily to shew them that wherewith We threaten them We are surely Able. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is the best, We are the Best Knower of that which they utter. 96 And say: "O my Sustainer! I seek refuge with Thee from the promptings of all evil impulses; 97 "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me." 98 When death approaches one of the unbelievers, he says, "Lord, send me back again 99 "So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. 100 Then, when the trumpet [of resurrection] is blown, no ties of kinship will on that Day prevail among them, and neither will they ask about one another. 101 then those whose scales weigh heavy with good works will be successful. 102 But those whose scales weigh light will have ruined their souls; in Hell will they abide. 103 The fire lashes their faces and therein are shriveled lips. 104 (It will be said): Were not My revelations recited unto you, and then ye used to deny them? 105 They shall say, 'Our Lord, our adversity prevailed over us; we were an erring people. 106 Get us out of this, O Lord. If we transgress we will surely be sinful." 107 He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 [But,] behold, today I have rewarded them for their patience in adversity: verily, it is they, they who have achieved a triumph!" 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will reply. "We remained for about a day or part of it, but ask those who have kept count". 113 He will say: Ye tarried but a little if ye only knew. 114 "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?" 115 So exalted is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne. 116 And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. 117 Say, "Lord, forgive us and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy." 118
