Blessed be He who, if He pleased, could give you better than that, -- gardens with rivers flowing by; and make palaces for you. 10 Nay they deny the hour (of the judgment to come): but We have prepared a blazing fire for such as deny the hour: 11 When it seeth them from afar, they hear the crackling and the roar thereof. 12 And when they are cast within a narrow space of it chained together, they would plead for death. 13 But they will be told, "Do not call today for one death, call for many deaths!" 14 Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination. 15 "For them there will be therein all that they wish for: they will dwell (there) for aye: A promise to be prayed for from thy Lord." 16 On the Day He gathers them all together with those they worship besides Him, He will say, "Was it you who misled My servants, or did they stray away by themselves?" 17 They will answer: "Glory to You. It was not worthy of us to seek any protector other than You. But You allowed them and their fathers a life of ease until they turned oblivious of the Reminder. They were a people impenitent. 18 Thus will your gods deny alI that you are professing today. Then you shall neither be able to repel your punishment nor shall get any help from anywhere; and whoso is guilty. of iniquity'' among you, We shall make him taste a severe torment. 19 We never sent before you apostles who did not eat food and walk the market places. We make some of you the means of trying the others. So will you persevere? Your Lord is always watching. 20
