When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
