And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 that you let the Children of Israel go with us.'" 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
