And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
