And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Harun (Aaron) (to come along with me). 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
