And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
