۞ And We inspired Musa (Moses), saying: "Take away My slaves by night, verily, you will be pursued." 52 Then Pharaoh sent into the cities summoners, 53 [bidding them to call out his troops and to proclaim:] "Behold, these [children of Israel] are but a contemptible band; 54 And indeed, they are enraging us, 55 And lo! we are a ready host. 56 So We made them leave their gardens and springs, 57 Treasures, and every kind of honourable position; 58 So it was; and We made the Descendants of Israel its inheritors. 59 At sunrise they set off in pursuit of them 60 And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me." 62 So We sent the divine revelation to Moosa that, “Strike the sea with your staff”; thereupon the sea parted; so each part was like a huge mountain. 63 And We caused the pursuers to draw near unto that place: 64 We delivered Moses and all those who were with him, 65 And We drowned the others. 66 In this [story] behold, there is a message [unto all men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 67 Indeed your Lord is mighty and merciful. 68
