And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
