And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
