And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 no loyal friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
