And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
