And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
