And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
