The people of Noah denied the messengers 105 When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not take heed? 106 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 107 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 108 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being; 109 so fear God and obey me." 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we accept you even though it is the meanest of people who follow you?" 111 He said: "And what knowledge have I of what they used to do? 112 Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware. 113 "I am not one to drive away those who believe. 114 "I am sent only to warn plainly in public." 115 They said: If you desist not, O Nuh, you shall most certainly be of those stoned to death. 116 He said: My Lord! Lo! my own folk deny me. 117 "Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me." 118 So We delivered him and those with him in the loaded ark, 119 Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones. 120 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 121 And indeed your Lord, only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 122
